In a landmark recognition of India’s growing leadership in the global fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, Shri Vivek Aggarwal has been appointed the Vice-President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). This marks the first time India occupies such a senior position.
The FATF is an inter-governmental body based in Paris that establishes international standards to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The organization comprises over 200 member jurisdictions.
India's appointment as Vice-President of the FATF enhances its role in global financial governance and showcases its capabilities in addressing financial security issues.
