Presidential Visit to Kuno National Park
On June 21, 2026, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, visited Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. This visit emphasized the significance of Project Cheetah, aimed at restoring the cheetah population in India.
During her tour, the President was briefed by the Divisional Forest Officer about the project’s progress. Project Cheetah, which commenced on September 17, 2022, is notable for reintroducing cheetahs to India after their extinction.
