Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today addressed the Parliament of Indonesia in Jakarta. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Indonesian Parliament.

He thanked the President of Indonesia, H.E. Prabowo Subianto, and Speaker of the Parliament, H.E. Puan Maharani. Modi conveyed greetings from India's 1.4 billion people and emphasized India's role as the Mother of Democracy.

Highlighting deep civilizational and maritime ties, he noted that the Indian Ocean has connected both nations for over two millennia.

Modi referenced shared ideals of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, portraying them as guiding principles in the partnership.
