The Ministry of Textiles used Bharat Tex 2026 to underline a shift in India’s textile and apparel strategy: from manufacturing strength alone to global brand building. The session on “Indian Brands, Global Ambitions: Redefining Retail Growth Beyond Borders” linked export growth with design, quality, sustainability, traceability, storytelling, and omnichannel retail.
The Ministry of Textiles said India’s textile and apparel exports reached approximately INR 3.16 lakh crore in 2025–26 and placed a target of INR 9 lakh crore by 2030. The session also situated this target within an expanding network of free trade agreements that can improve market access for Indian brands.
