- Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) enables a mobile subscriber to connect to another operator’s network within the same telecom circle when the subscriber’s home network is temporarily offline.
- DoT stated it invoked emergency response mechanisms under the SOP-2020 for Telecom Services in Response to Disasters and Unified Licence provisions to maintain essential communication services during disaster impacts on telecom infrastructure.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) activated emergency connectivity measures to maintain mobile communication during disasters that damaged telecom infrastructure in parts of Nagaland, Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Heavy rainfall, landslides, flash floods, and severe inundation caused network outages and disruptions in transmission routes, affecting continuity of essential communication services for residents and disaster operations.
