What happened: cooperative agriculture support expanded for hilly States via NCDC, BBSSL, NCEL and NCOL

The Ministry of Cooperation is providing assistance to promote cooperative agriculture, horticulture and marketing of allied products in hilly States, including Uttarakhand, through National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) (a statutory corporation under the Ministry of Cooperation). The Ministry also announced expansion of cooperative seed supply and market access through Bhartiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL), National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) and National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL).

NCDC support: disbursals and new offices in hilly/remote areas

NCDC financial assistance covers hilly States and Union Territories for the five-year period 2021-22 to 2025-26, with the Ministry reporting the following totals for hilly States/UTs:

Uttarakhand NCDC disbursals: Rs 287.95 crore.Total NCDC disbursals across the listed hilly States/UTs: Rs 422.95 crore.
