What happened (India–Sri Lanka power-sector review in New Delhi)
India and Sri Lanka reviewed bilateral cooperation in the power sector in a meeting held in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, and the Sri Lankan delegation was led by Shri Anura Karunathilake, Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation and Minister of Energy of Sri Lanka.
The ministers reviewed progress of ongoing bilateral initiatives and discussed further ways to strengthen cross-border electricity and clean energy collaboration. The meeting was attended by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, along with senior officials of the Government of India.

The ministers also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in: cross-border electricity trade; renewable energy; transmission infrastructure; and capacity building. The stated aim was enhancing energy security and supporting the clean energy transition in the region.
