The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying stated that the Government is leveraging technology and digital platforms to strengthen livestock and fisheries sectors and improve access to services for farmers, fishers and other stakeholders.
Bharat Pashudhan (animal husbandry): Pashu Aadhaar and mobile-first tracking
Bharat Pashudhan is described as a technology-enabled, farmer-centric digital ecosystem with a 12-digit unique identification system, “Pashu Aadhaar”, and a barcoded ear tag for each registered animal.
NAIP outcomes cited: artificial insemination recorded on the platform
Under the Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP), the release states that 17.27 crore artificial inseminations have been recorded covering 10.51 crore animals and benefiting 5.98 crore farmers.
