What happened (Dr Jitendra Singh’s meeting and agenda)
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh discussed connectivity-led development priorities for the North-East during a call with Shri Yanthungo Patton, Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland in-charge of Home and Border Affairs. The call included public representatives from Wokha district, including MLAs from Wokha and surrounding constituencies, and an agriculture advisor.
The interaction covered developmental issues related to connectivity, infrastructure, livelihoods, and human-wildlife conflict in Nagaland.

Dr Jitendra Singh attributed North-East transformation over the last twelve years to a development-oriented approach under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The stated idea was that improved connectivity and infrastructure can link the North-East with India’s overall growth journey and support its role as a natural gateway for the Act East policy.
Dr Jitendra Singh also described multiple connectivity channels being expanded: roads and railways, airports, waterways, and digital connectivity.
