India’s Defence Secretary, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, co-chaired the 25th India–UK Defence Consultative Group (DCG) meeting with the United Kingdom’s Permanent Under Secretary for Defence, Mr Jeremy Pocklington, in New Delhi on 21 August 2026. The discussion reviewed ongoing India–UK defence industrial cooperation and agreed directions to expand exchanges between the armed forces.
Main focus areas in the DCG meeting outcomes
The India–UK sides emphasised three connected areas: defence industrial cooperation with a research and development focus; armed forces exchanges through exercises, training, and capacity building; and Indo-Pacific maritime security collaboration through institutional capacity building under the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative.
