The Government is executing the release through a hybrid transportation model combining railway rakes and road transport. Supply movement is being directed to major consumption centres based on prevailing market conditions and price trends, with the quantity, coverage and channels planned to be widened as conditions change.

Key production figures stated by the Government are: 307.37 LMT of onion production in 2025-26 and 307.67 LMT in the previous year.
