What happened (2nd Coordination Committee Meeting of Textile Research Associations)

The Ministry of Textiles convened the 2nd Coordination Committee Meeting of Textile Research Associations (TRAs) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.

The Ministry described the meeting as a step to strengthen coordination, improve effectiveness, and increase “outcome-orientation” in textile research and development across India. Senior Ministry officers, senior representatives of TRAs, and representatives from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the Department of Science & Technology, the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), and IITs attended the full-day discussions.

Agenda topics included R&D priorities, technology development, innovation, industry linkages, commercialization of R&D outputs, and institutional strengthening of TRAs.
