What happened: Tarun Kapoor’s BCCL review and project inspections (31 August–1 September 2026)

Advisor to the Prime Minister Tarun Kapoor chaired a high-level review meeting at Koyla Bhawan, headquarters of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), on the first day of a two-day official visit covering Dhanbad and key locations in the region from 31 August to 1 September 2026. The review covered BCCL’s operational activities, key projects, technology initiatives, safety measures, and future action plans.

During the visit, Tarun Kapoor also inspected BCCL projects at Moonidih and the ENA Fire Project in the Kusunda Area. He interacted with families from high-risk areas and discussed issues related to their safety and rehabilitation. On 1 September 2026, he was scheduled to visit the Belgaria and Karmatand rehabilitation sites and review matters relating to the Revised Jharia Master Plan with concerned stakeholders.
