What happened: Hub & Spoke operations launched from Ahmedabad
The Ministry of Civil Aviation launched Hub & Spoke International Flight Operations from Ahmedabad on 2 September 2026. With this launch, Ahmedabad became the third airport in India integrated into the Government’s Hub & Spoke framework for international passenger movement. The two earlier spoke airports in this phased roll-out were Varanasi and Amritsar.
The launch function in Ahmedabad included Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Ram Mohon Naidu, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Shri Murlidhar Mohol, and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi.
The Government also described the launch as part of a wider expansion of Hub & Spoke operations across additional airports in coming months.
