What happened: gross FDI inflows rose to $30.7 billion in April–June 2026

RBI-based figures used in the analysis report that India recorded $30.7 billion in gross foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows during the April–June 2026 quarter. The same set of figures describes this as the highest level in at least 15 years. Net FDI improved because the reported outward flows were not enough to offset the reported inflows, taking net FDI to the highest level since June 2022.

For April–June 2026 and for the month of June 2026, the reported values are:

Gross inflows (April–June 2026): $30.7 billion, net FDI (April–June 2026): $7.8 billion. For June 2026, the figures report net FDI: +$1.3 billion (inflows exceeding outflows).

The reported June 2026 inflow figure is $9.3 billion. The analysis describes $9.3 billion as about 53% higher than May and near the June 2025 level. The reported major inflow sources include Singapore, the Netherlands, the U.S., and Canada.

Sector-wise, the figures report the largest share of inflows going to manufacturing, followed by electricity generation, and computer and communications services.
