Parliament set to take up Bills to amend FCRA, prevent insult to Vande Mataram
Parliament’s Monsoon Session agenda includes amendment proposals on foreign contribution rules, national honour, and several sectoral laws.

The Government of India’s Monsoon Session legislative agenda includes proposals touching foreign funding rules, national honour, tax administration, judicial service conditions, and MSME regulation. The agenda matters for UPSC because it shows the Union government’s current legislative priorities and the policy areas likely to remain in examination focus.
Among the listed measures are a proposal to amend the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 and a proposal to amend the law on prevention of insults to national honour so that intentional disruption of singing Vande Mataram can be punished. The agenda also mentions amendments to the law on registration of births and deaths, the Income Tax law, the Supreme Court judges’ law, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises development law.
