The Chhattisgarh Assembly has passed the Chhattisgarh Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026 to reduce procedural bottlenecks and make it easier to set up and operate businesses in the State. The State government says the Bill is intended to create a quicker, transparent, and investor-friendly environment, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Chhattisgarh government says the Chhattisgarh Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026 makes Chhattisgarh the first State in India to apply a risk- and trust-based business permission framework. Under this framework, industries and commercial establishments will be categorised according to their size and risk profile, instead of using a uniform approval process.
According to the official statement, the Bill will bring 43 services offered by eight State departments under the risk-based approval system. The government expects these reforms to directly benefit over 15 lakh MSMEs.
