The National Conference expelled Dr. Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon after he refused to resign as Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil. The party said Dr. Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon was removed from basic membership for six years for anti-party activity and indiscipline.
The dispute matters because the post was part of a rotation arrangement between the National Conference and the Congress in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil.
