Rajasthan Cabinet nod to Bills for Uniform Civil Code, protection of trees
Rajasthan Cabinet approved a Uniform Civil Code bill and a tree-protection bill for introduction in the State Assembly’s Monsoon Session beginning 20 August.
The Rajasthan Cabinet approved two bills before the model code of conduct came into effect for upcoming panchayat and local body elections. The two bills are a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill and a tree-protection bill.
The bills are planned to be tabled in the Rajasthan State Assembly’s Monsoon Session starting 20 August. The proposal for UCC legislation is reported as part of Rajasthan’s steps alongside other BJP-ruled states.
