What happened (July 23 advisory and MV AGN Ragnar incident)
The Directorate General of Maritime Administration urged Indian seafarers to follow maritime advisories issued by the maritime administration. The advisory dated July 23 followed an armed incident involving MV AGN Ragnar at Odesa.
MV AGN Ragnar had four Indian nationals onboard. Two Indian nationals were confirmed safe. The status of the other two Indian nationals was awaited while search and rescue continued.
The Indian Embassy in Kyiv said it is in constant contact with relevant authorities. The embassy did not specify the identity of the actor that fired the projectile in the MV AGN Ragnar incident.
Background (July 19 MV Golden Leo incident and diplomatic action)
On July 19, MV Golden Leo, a Guinea-Bissau-flagged ship, was hit by projectiles. The incident led to 10 deaths, including four Indian citizens.
