What happened (hospital transfer and alleged non-compliance)
Uzma Khan filed a contempt petition in Pakistan’s Supreme Court. Uzma Khan alleges that Pakistan’s government and senior officials violated an earlier Supreme Court order connected to the medical examination and treatment of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Pakistan’s Supreme Court order, as described in the petition context, required Imran Khan, aged 73, to be transferred from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad within two days.
The same Supreme Court order also required Imran Khan to remain at Shifa International Hospital until the next hearing on September 16.
Uzma Khan’s allegation focuses on the hospital sequence around August 20–21: Imran Khan was taken during the night of August 20–21 to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad for examination and treatment, and Imran Khan was later returned to Adiala Jail.
Uzma Khan alleges that using PIMS and then returning Imran Khan to Adiala Jail did not satisfy the Supreme Court’s hospital destination and stay-time requirements.
