The Enforcement Directorate carried out raids on premises linked to the Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust and the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University connected with Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. The Enforcement Directorate stated that the raids were part of a money laundering investigation.
Enforcement Directorate teams visited locations in Rampur, Saharanpur, and Delhi.
During the raids, the Enforcement Directorate examined financial records, documents, and digital devices.
Dispute: Akhilesh Yadav’s allegations on intent and selectivity
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the Enforcement Directorate raids were intended to satisfy a small group of communal-minded individuals. Akhilesh Yadav also alleged a political contrast by claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party was closing schools while Bharatiya Janata Party allies were linked to Enforcement Directorate raids against builders of universities.
