What happened
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami said the DMK remains an “evil force” for the AIADMK and that the party’s stance has not changed. He also rejected allegations that the AIADMK and the DMK had tried to join forces to stop TVK from forming a government after a hung Assembly outcome.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits to Australia and New Zealand were significant because they deepened India’s strategic position in the Indo-Pacific, not only its economic or people-to-people ties.
UPSC may use India-Australia and India-New Zealand ties to test defence cooperation, maritime security, critical minerals, civilian nuclear trade and the idea of strategic autonomy amid great-power rivalry.
