Researchers develop low-energy system to treat biopharmaceutical wastewater
BITS Pilani researchers reported a low-energy, lab-scale system to disinfect biopharmaceutical wastewater and recover reusable water and methane-rich biogas.
BITS Pilani researchers in Hyderabad reported a low-energy, laboratory-scale system for disinfecting biopharmaceutical wastewater while recovering reusable water and methane-rich biogas. The technology is described as moving toward industrial deployment with Biological E. Ltd. (a Hyderabad-based vaccine manufacturer), and the core disinfection method is reported to have been filed for an Indian patent.
