What happened: Jaishankar meets Putin and delivers Modi’s message
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin and handed over a personal message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Narendra Modi’s message, conveyed by Jaishankar, stated that Modi looks forward to meeting Putin at the SCO summit in Bishkek. Modi also welcomed Putin to visit India for the BRICS Summit, and the message indicated that another meeting could occur depending on schedules.
Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that Putin plans to meet Narendra Modi at the SCO summit and suggested that scheduling might allow another meeting within the year.
