What happened: Sandhu’s flag-hoisting call for a ‘Viksit Delhi’ through cooperation
Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu hoisted the national flag at Lok Niwas and urged Delhi residents to work together to build a ‘Viksit (developed) Delhi’.
Sandhu linked the goal of a premier global capital to coordination among the Centre, the Delhi government, civic bodies, neighbouring states, and citizens.
Sandhu also urged a balance between preserving heritage and enabling modernity. He added that Delhi should be developed in a way that makes citizens feel safe, valued, and empowered.
