After the incident, relatives and local residents reportedly ransacked the DRFO office, alleging that the deceased were innocent and demanding action against Forest Department personnel involved in the encounter. Forest Department claims from the spot: seized guns and bags
The Forest Department reported seizure of two country-made guns and four bags at the spot. Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy later said the bags contained deer meat.
