What happened (Defence Ministry tender for multirole transport aircraft)
The Defence Ministry is reported to have issued a tender worth about ₹1 lakh crore for 60 multirole transport aircraft (MTA) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). The reported objective is to replace ageing cargo and transport aircraft and strengthen India’s strategic airlift capability.
