The Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs conducted a review of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 on June 19, 2026, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Significant projects worth ₹3,680 crore have been approved, including components like waste remediation, solid waste management, and water management.

The State has processed over 48 lakh metric tonnes of waste, recovering 509 acres of land and planting trees on 100 acres.

Madhya Pradesh is a pioneer in the CBG sector with operational plants in Indore and Gwalior and additional plants planned in five other districts.

Around 350 projects aimed at treating used water are underway to control pollution in local rivers.
