The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed penalties of ₹1,00,000 each on Storia Foods and Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities for misleading advertisements regarding their food products labeled as '100%'.
CCPA found that the term '100%' must accurately reflect the product's real composition, and any misrepresentation violates the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
