As part of the Government of India's efforts to strengthen public health preparedness, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the preparedness for prevention and control of dengue in Delhi.
The meeting reviewed the epidemiological situation and evaluated the readiness of healthcare institutions and civic agencies to handle potential dengue outbreaks.
During discussions, a comprehensive action plan for dengue prevention and control was presented, which included strengthening disease surveillance and community awareness efforts.
The Union Health Minister noted that the current incidence of dengue is low, with a mortality rate of 0.11%, but stressed the need for vigilance as the season progresses.
