India’s coal mining sector continued its growth in June 2026, with production at 17.88 Million Tonnes (MT) and dispatch at 18.55 MT. This represents a 14.9% increase from June 2025 when production was 15.56 MT.
In Q1 FY 2026-27, cumulative coal production rose by 5.35%, while dispatch saw a 1.70% year-on-year increase. The sector's growth is tied to better mine operations and improved capacity utilization.
