Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah and Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the situation regarding below-normal rainfall and its impact in certain parts of the country due to El Niño.

Senior officials from various ministries and departments attended the meeting, where Shri Shah stated the government is monitoring the situation continuously.

He directed the Ministry of Agriculture and related ministries to coordinate with state governments to advise farmers on appropriate crop choices.

Shri Shah emphasized the need for alternative crops requiring less water, such as fodder, millets, and pulses.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Power was instructed to ensure adequate electricity supply.
