India’s liver and Type-2 diabetes surge linked to broader metabolic nexus; calls for mission-mode preventive awareness
Addressing India's Rising Metabolic Disorders

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, and Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said India's liver epidemic and the sharp rise in Type-2 diabetes are part of a larger metabolic nexus.
He indicated that disorders such as fatty liver, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, and insulin resistance are interconnected, predisposing one another.
Dr. Singh emphasized that these diseases are now appearing at younger ages, presenting a challenge beyond health that requires a mission-mode national response.
Understanding India's shifting health landscape is critical for public health strategies.
