India's maritime education ecosystem has undergone significant expansion over the past 12 years.
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) has become one of the world's top 10 maritime universities.
The minister noted a substantial increase in registrations for the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) from 14,751 in 2014 to 73,395.
Enrollment of girl cadets has risen 18-fold, indicating increased inclusivity in maritime education.
