Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah today attended the commemorative programme marking the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by Chief Minister of West Bengal Shri Suvendu Adhikari, Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and several other distinguished dignitaries.
Shri Amit Shah emphasized Dr. Mookerjee's contribution to India's integration and mentioned that a 125-foot-tall statue has been laid as part of the celebrations.
He stated that Dr. Mookerjee's legacy is being honored in West Bengal, and the government is acting in accordance with his vision for the state.
Shah noted the establishment of the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Institute for security research.
