What happened

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched a Monthly Webinar Series on Best Practices under the National Health Mission on World Population Day 2026. The series is designed as a year-round knowledge-sharing platform for States and Union Territories to present successful innovations, exchange implementation experience, and support the adoption of scalable, evidence-based practices for strengthening healthcare delivery.

Why the initiative matters

The series attempts to convert isolated state-level innovations into transferable public-health practice. It strengthens institutional learning, which is important in a federal health system where programme delivery often differs by State and district capacity.

Inaugural session

The inaugural session was chaired by Smt. Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary and Mission Director (NHM), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. She said innovation is central to responsive and resilient public health systems and described the webinar series as a mechanism to identify, document, and disseminate innovations from States and Union Territories.
