What happened

The Department of Youth Affairs under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has commenced the fourth Chintan Shivir of MY Bharat at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. The two-day Shivir is held under the theme "Viksit Yuva for Viksit Bharat" and brings together officials from the Department of Youth Affairs, MY Bharat, the National Service Scheme, District Youth Officers, Regional Directors, and field functionaries from the Central Region.

Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said the Shivir is meant to create a culture of dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning among grassroots officers. He linked MY Bharat to the larger vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and said the platform is intended to nurture capable young leaders through leadership, character building, and nation-building.

Background and earlier position

MY Bharat is the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports platform for youth engagement and volunteering. The current Shivir is the fourth regional Chintan Shivir, which shows an attempt to institutionalise consultation on implementation rather than treating youth outreach as a one-time exercise.

The Ministry has also been using the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) as a national youth engagement platform. The latest announcement expands that dialogue by adding State-level editions alongside the National Dialogue.
