The Department of Youth Affairs concluded the fourth Regional Chintan Shivir at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, and used the platform to turn consultations into implementation-oriented action plans. The Shivir matters for UPSC because it links youth policy, grassroots governance, and State-specific delivery of flagship initiatives.

The two-day consultation was held under the theme “विकसित युवा बनाएगा विकसित भारत (Viksit Yuva for Viksit Bharat)”. The second day was centred on “Samadhaan Se Sankalp” and focused on converting recommendations from the previous day into strategies for stronger youth-centric governance and field implementation.

What happened

Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse told youth officers that their ground-level work gives them a better understanding of challenges and practical solutions. She linked youth participation to nation-building and said the field presentations showed that officers understand local problems and can respond with workable measures.

The Ministry highlighted presentations on MY Bharat, the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP), the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), and Fit India. Officials said these initiatives showed the value of field-level implementation in improving policy outcomes.

Joint Secretary Shiv Ratan said more Union Ministries are partnering with MY Bharat, which indicates that the platform is becoming a vehicle for youth engagement and nation-building. He also called for deeper collaboration with State Governments, educational institutions, and local stakeholders.
