The Ministry of Textiles stated that the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles is being implemented to promote production of MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics, and Technical Textiles products. The stated goals are promoting investment, enhancing manufacturing capacity, improving competitiveness of the textile sector, and encouraging value addition in identified product segments.

The Ministry of Textiles stated that a total of 170 companies have been approved across India under the PLI Scheme for Textiles, and 24 companies pertain to Maharashtra.
