What happened: NTTM launch, conference activity, and reported trade surplus (FY 2025-26)
The Ministry of Textiles launched the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) in 2020 to boost India’s technical textile sector. Under Component-II (Promotion and Market Development), the Ministry reported that a total of 47 national/international conferences have been organized or participated in by the Ministry of Textiles.
For trade performance, the Ministry reported that the domestic Technical Textiles industry recorded a net trade surplus of Rs. 3,420.20 crore in FY 2025-26, based on data from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS) under the Ministry of Commerce.
