What happened in the Parliamentary Consultative Committee meeting

The Parliamentary Consultative Committee (PCC) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change met in New Delhi. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav chaired the meeting. The agenda was to review Human–Wildlife Conflict (HWC) and measures to strengthen prevention, mitigation, and long-term coexistence between people and wildlife.

Who attended and what was discussed

The PCC meeting included Union Minister of State (Environment, Forest and Climate Change) Kirti Vardhan Singh, Members of Parliament, and senior Ministry officials. State representatives included Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCFs) and Chief Wild Life Wardens from participating States.

The PCC reviewed follow-up action taken by States and Union Territories on directions from the previous PCC meeting held on 18.12.2025. The meeting also included consultation processes with Members of Parliament from conflict-affected areas.
