What happened (Rajya Sabha answer on Jammu de-addiction integration and ongoing mechanisms)
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri B.L. Verma, stated that the Government has no proposal at present to establish integrated drug de-addiction and vocational training centres in the Jammu region.
Existing de-addiction services in Jammu & Kashmir (as reported by the Ministry)
The Minister reported that the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir currently has a set of rehabilitation and de-addiction services working under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR).
Reported facilities include:
1) Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA): 1 centre functioning as a rehabilitation centre.
