What happened: NYPS 2.0 web portal launched for wider youth participation
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs launched NYPS 2.0, the upgraded web portal for the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS), on 11 September 2024. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs states that NYPS 2.0 provides a digital route for youth participation and records participation details. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs also states that NYPS 2.0 expands access beyond the earlier portal’s restricted student eligibility.
Background and earlier position: restricted portal access
Before NYPS 2.0, the National Youth Parliament Scheme web portal was limited to students of recognized institutions only. This restriction meant portal participation depended on whether a student’s institution met the recognized-institution condition.
What changed now: participation open to institutions, groups and citizens
Participation and engagement recorded on NYPS 2.0 (11-09-2024 to 21-07-2026)
