International Tourism Mart (ITM): platform for buyers, sellers, and stakeholders
The Ministry of Tourism has been organizing International Tourism Mart (ITM) in the North-Eastern Region since 2013. ITM is an annual event intended to showcase the tourism potential of the North-Eastern Region to domestic and international audiences. ITM brings together tourism businesses and entrepreneurs from the eight North Eastern States: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim, and facilitates interactions among buyers, sellers, media, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The latest ITM was held at Gangtok, Sikkim, from 13–16 November 2025.
What the Ministry says it does for promotion: digital platform and market communication
The Ministry of Tourism reported digital and media promotion focused on North-East destinations. Under Incredible India Digital Platform (IIDP), the Ministry revamped the Incredible India website as IIDP in September 2024 to engage visitors across web and social media platforms. The Incredible India website content is available in Hindi, English and UN languages, and includes tourism destinations in the North-East States. In addition to digital content, the Ministry reported that it posts creative posts and live sessions on social media (including tweets) about North-East destinations on a regular basis and produces promotional material for tourism destinations and products in North-Eastern States for domestic and international markets.
