What happened: NCLT launched e-Inspection and e-Certified Copy Services
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) launched its e-Inspection and e-Certified Copy Services to make access to judicial records easier and faster for advocates, litigants, and other stakeholders. NCLT President Justice Anupinder Singh Grewal inaugurated the services through video conferencing.
NCLT described the two services as part of a broader effort to make the Tribunal’s Registry more accessible and technology-enabled, with the stated aim of improving convenience and speed of access to judicial records and certified copies.
Background and earlier position: NCLT digital transformation and pendency focus
NCLT linked the new services with its broader digital transformation measures. These include the revamped NCLT website and the ongoing e-Courts 2.0 initiative (a wider e-governance push for court services and digitisation).
NCLT also highlighted performance-oriented measures for case management and pendency reduction. NCLT adopted a data-driven mechanism to monitor pendency across Benches, reviewed workload based on the data, redistributed workload, and constituted Special Benches wherever required to maximise available court time.
