Government strengthens welfare and economic empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities through SEED scheme
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is implementing the SEED scheme through the DWBDNC to support De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities’ education, healthcare, livelihoods and housing.

What happened: DWBDNC implements the SEED scheme for DNT/NT/SNT communities
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is using the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC) to strengthen welfare and economic empowerment for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic (DNT/NT/SNT) communities. The DWBDNC implements the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs (SEED), which provides multi-sector support.
SEED is described as having four components: education, healthcare, livelihoods and housing. The scheme supports DNT/NT/SNT beneficiaries through the following interventions:
• Education: quality coaching for DNT candidates so they can appear in competitive examinations.
• Healthcare: support for health insurance for DNT communities.
