What happened: monitoring and timely delivery tightened for Scheduled Caste welfare schemes
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced strengthened monitoring and fund-management processes to improve implementation and delivery of Scheduled Caste welfare schemes across India. The Ministry linked fund releases to specific compliance steps, emphasised reviews and audits, and described scholarship disbursal mainly through Direct Benefit Transfer for faster, bank-account-based payouts.
The Ministry stated that implementation and utilisation of funds for Scheduled Caste welfare schemes is done in coordination with States and Union Territories, and that fund release depends on receiving complete documentation and following scheme guidelines and financial norms.
