What happened: inaugural India–Kuwait Joint Defence Committee meeting in New Delhi

The inaugural meeting of the India–Kuwait Joint Defence Committee (JDC) was held in New Delhi on 28 August 2026. India and Kuwait agreed to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation in multiple functional areas, ranging from operational training to defence industry and Research & Development (R&D).

The JDC meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Shri Amitabh Prasad (India) and Brigadier General Raed Alsakran (Kuwait). The Indian delegation included representatives from the three Services, Department of Defence Production, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Armed Forces Medical Services, and Ministry of External Affairs.
