What happened (Modi’s visit schedule and agenda)
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will undertake two connected diplomatic engagements in Central Asia in late August and early September 2026. First, Modi will visit Uzbekistan for a bilateral State Visit to Tashkent on 29–30 August 2026. Second, Modi will go to the Kyrgyz Republic to attend the 26th SCO Summit in Bishkek on 31 August – 1 September 2026.
In Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Modi has an invitation from the President of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to undertake the State Visit. Modi will hold delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Uzbekistan.

After the Uzbekistan leg, Prime Minister Modi will travel from Tashkent to Bishkek, at the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Mr. Sadyr Zhaparov, to participate in the SCO Summit.
Prime Minister Modi will address the SCO Summit. Modi will highlight India’s priorities of Security, Connectivity and Opportunity. Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with SCO leaders on the sidelines of the Summit. Modi is also expected to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games during the Kyrgyz Republic visit.
